Q: I have a question about malaria. When do we need to take preventative measures and what are they?
A: Malaria is not prevalent in much of South Africa. However, you will be notified in your pre-travel documentation if your scheduled tour travels through areas affected by malaria. The steps to take involve prophylactic measures, the use of repellents and sleeping under mosquito nets. Any preventative medications should be taken for the full duration of treatment.
